HospiceCare of Southeast Florida, Inc. was incorporated in 1981 as Hospice Care of Broward County, Inc. and in 1998, expanded geographically to include Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. HospiceCare of Southeast Florida, Inc., is a not-for-profit corporation, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by the Chief Executive Officer. The CEO is responsible to the Board of Directors and the community for the implementation and continuation of all services. HospiceCare of Southeast Florida is licensed by the State of Florida, and is a Medicare and Medicaid provider and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation for Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).

Hospice focuses on quality of life for persons facing end of life and the decisions that need to be made by them and their families. Hospice is supportive, palliative, medical, psychosocial and spiritual care offered by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, nurse assistants, social workers, clergy, counselors and trained volunteers.
