Ammon News – To celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, the Jordanian Breast Cancer Programme, led by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation with support from the global MSD for Mothers initiative, launched a campaign in March titled “You are the life” to appreciate the great role of women and underline the importance of their health.

The campaign is part of the Integrated Social Behavior Change Project for Women’s Health, in collaboration with Jordanian health sector partners and providers, according to a statement from the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of women’s health issues, particularly those related to breast cancer, family planning and breastfeeding, by providing health education, counseling and health services.

It also includes early breast cancer detection services, especially for disadvantaged women, including Jordanians and refugees.

Jordan’s breast cancer program director Reem Al Ajlouni said the campaign is a continuation of the program’s efforts in prevention, awareness, health education and service delivery. early detection of breast cancer.

As part of the campaign conferences, distribution of educational materials, support groups and other community outreach activities will take place across Jordan, particularly in the governorates of Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba.

MSD Regional Office External Affairs Director Hassan Bibi said MSD for Mothers is a global initiative that aims to eliminate deaths from preventable health causes.

“We are thrilled to see the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the Jordan Breast Cancer Program promoting women’s health concepts and increasing utilization of health services through this campaign,” said Bibi.
